Default whats in your seed collection then !!!?

New season will be here soon...

I have been going through my seed collection seeing what kind of seeds i have and here is a list of them... I request all MG members to be active this season and try and grow something you have not grown before espically if you're a newbie, even if you dont have a garden and live in a apartment please try it in containers, you can grow so much like this, container gardening can be so satisfying and you will be surprised what kind of veggies you can grow in small containers, even herbs like dill/coriander/basil at windowsills, so there is no excuse, all you need is a bag of compost/soil and some containers and of course some seeds that dont cost much at all..

Gardening must be the easiest hobby in the world ever, their is not really much to do after you have germinated the seed or planted a plant, they grow themselves apart from the occasional watering once a week there is nothing else to do apart from watch it grow and marvel at your work. You will be surprised at the things you can do even if you think you cant

Its such a rewarding hobby and the younger you start off in life the more knowledge you will have at a early age, and the best thing about all this is that it doesn't take much of your time at all and you honestly learn so much about life by just germinating a seed, you get to appreciate flowers and veggies a lot more once you start germinating a seed mashallah its one of the best hobbies around, I wish i started growing at a younger age

Even now after 3 seasons of growing from a complete newb i get amazed when a seed germinates i cant believe i done that lol...

so even if you dont have a garden and just have a balcony or some space near the window you can still grow, it will brighten up your life and who knows what it will lead to, you will end up growing all sorts of stuff just like me

We are here to help you with pictorial guides we have so many of them in the veg section, step by step guides so there is no excuse, and please dont be shy and ask away any question you feel like asking, there are a few knowledgeable people on this forum that will go out of there way to help a fellow member out, we LOVE to help.

Muslims are under-represented on the net when it comes to growing, muslimgrower is the only on-line muslim forum which is dedicated to growing, and we also have non Muslims on this forum which is such a added bonus and we are so pleased they participate and chose muslimgrower to post on a big thank you to them.....

in my seed collection i have the following seeds.....

tomatoes
aubergines and courgettes
radish
basil/coriander/thyme/sweet marjoram
brussel sprouts
carrots
chillies
onions
lettuce/ diff varieties
garden peas/runner beans

probably have lots more seeds soon to...............

Ok so I finally hit the shops (k just a pound store to be precise) and I tried not to buy too many things as I'd just spread myself too thinly and things would end up dying but I tried to have some variety - was basically trying to be realistic, and I might not even grow all of this stuff this season!

Ok here's my haul:

Flowers: (<-- lol at that shortcut btw Riz, who is ever gonna type that?!)

Red Gladioli
Acidanthera
Liatris Spicata
Oxalis Deppei

Munchables:

Cress
Spring Onion (White Lisbon)
Radish (Cherrybelle)
Tomato (Moneymaker)
Cucumber (Marketmore - good variety that I've tried before )
Lettuce (Iceberg)
Leek (Musselburgh)
Carrot (Paris Market - rather cute and small)
Spinach (Medania)
Beetroot (Boltardy)
Parsnip (White Spear)
Broccoli (Green Calabrese)

Misc:

Ground fleeces (battling cats and the weather!!)
Water retaining crystals (in an attempt to fend off the possible exam-time drought)

Your thoughts on my haul? I'm considering not planting any root veg seeing as they don't do so well. Can I plant radish in a seed tray? Do you reckon they'd make it to a decent size?

Might not plant the moneymaker tomatoes, I prefer the small ones I grew first season.
