If your plant is only a month or so old I think you'll still have a month or so to go
According to this (http://www.gardenersnet.com/vegetable/corn.htm) website:
" Days to Maturity:
Ranges from 65 to 95 days depending on variety. Among the longest varieties are "Silver Queen", one of the all time favorites, and certainly worth the wait. While some of today's enhanced sugar varieties claim to have higher sugar content and sweetness, Silver Queen remains the favorite "Queen of the Corns". "
There are some other good tips on there too. Hope you get a good crop, if you do it will encourage me to plant some too next year iA :D
Growing anything else?

salam sajid..
how many did you plant ?
in the ground or in pots ?
I think the sweetcorn will mature in mid august early september... please let us know how you get on :) . I was going to grow corn aswell in pots along with pumpkins ( in the ground) I had so much allready growing i just couldnt get around to doing it.
you should have seen the size of the pumpkins i grew 2 seasons ago, ( as big as footballs) and i was a first timer. I had all the pics on my laptop which crashed and i lost all the pics, I have a friend in the states who will send some F1 pumpkin seeds to me, so i cant wait to get started next season.. We should have a pumpkin competition to see who can grow the biggest pumpkin. :)

Hi - my sweetcorn is doing pretty well and I'm really pleased. Was very surprised to see that the cobs are developing, as the corn is all growing at different rates, even though they were all planted at exactly the same time. Took two pics of them today but am having trouble trying to upload on this site. Don't know what is wrong, as I have resized both of the files, but it still tells me the images are not recognised. Oh well! The cobs are not ready for picking yet, but I'm pleased to see they look healthy enough. I read a tip, that I've tried this year - sow a climbing bean next to the sweetcorn, once the corn has reached about two leaf spaces high. This is because corn takes nitrogen out of the soil and beans put it in, so they are companion plants. I have beans climbing three of mine so far.
I wish you well and hope yours are as successful.

I am glad you are growing sweetcorn just like sajid, I was going to grow them this season but i had so much else to do and didnt have enough room.. is it your first time growing sweetcorn ? and whats the particular strain called ? because if it grew well for you, we should all grow the same strain next season :)

Was very surprised to see that the cobs are developing, as the corn is all growing at different rates, even though they were all planted at exactly the same time. Did you save seed from a hybrid or did you buy fresh seed? I planted seed that I saved from last year's hybrid and the plants were up and down like you said. I also planted remnant hybrid seed and the plants were uniform. The cobs are not ready for picking yet, but I'm pleased to see they look healthy enough. Did the ears get pollinated good? I plant corn into a roughly square block rather than in a single row to aid in pollination. I read a tip, that I've tried this year - sow a climbing bean next to the sweetcorn, once the corn has reached about two leaf spaces high. This is because corn takes nitrogen out of the soil and beans put it in, so they are companion plants. I have beans climbing three of mine so far. That is a good idea, I should try that next year, insha'Allah.

Salaams Sajid, The corn plants will be about 4 feet tall or 1.3m before they really start to produce ears of corn. As someone else mentioned, it's good to plant them with beans or peas as well.
The Iroquois indians used to plant the 3 sisters in the same field ie corn, beans and squash because each helped the others to grow :D
I don't know about where you live but here in Canada, we usually start corn in April to get a harvest August or September

Thanks for all your help Riz, but I think it must be my antiquated computer. I tried photobucket and webshots and the attachments just did not arrive. I'm using Windows 98 and wonder if this is the reason. However, thinking positively, I have been thinking of upgrading my computer for a while now - and this is further proof of how it is really necessary. The poor old thing just can't keep up. I really appreciate all your help and suggestions though.
Anyway, onto veg. I have grown sweetcorn before, but not had as much success as this year. I sowed a block of 18. Started them off in biodegradable pots first, with an equal mix of ericaceous compost and potting compost; and then put into the ground when they were at about the two leaf height. Strangely though, from there, they have all shot up at different speeds. I have one that is brilliant and has three cobs on it - one must be almost ready to harvest, I keep checking - and some that are still only about three leaf heights off the ground. The strain is Type F. Sundance.

Strangely though, from there, they have all shot up at different speeds. [/Were the growing conditions such as fertilizer and watering the same for all of them? The strain is Type F. Sundance.[/QUOTE]I looked this hybrid up on the internet by google search and found that it is early maturing with the regular sugary (su) gene. I like Kandy Korn with the sugar enhancer (se) gene that is sweeter, but it requires a longer season.

Don't give up yet dunemist, how about cheating? View your photo, and take a screenshot (PrtSc - print screen button) then paste it into paint, then isolate the photo (delete the surrounding stuff) and save it as a picture.

Thanks - will give it a try.
Picked five climbing French beans today from one of the plants that had grown up some of my corn. Delicious. The corn is not ready yet - still producing milky fluid. I test it reguarly though and can't wait.
My chillis are not turning red and I think I'll have to take Riz's tip and now bring them indoors. Made a salsa today from my home grown tomatoes and a teeny, tiny piece of chilli (cayenne) - wow, heat! Was very pleased with it though.
Late now - going. Cheerio.
