Good post!

also from my own expereince (have been growing corinader for years lol!) you can just use the seeds you get in indian spice shops, but you must use the white seed (you can get a slightly darker brown colour one as well, don't use this!) It also helps if you roll over the seeds gently with a rolling pin or something before planting.

Didn't know re: soaking, I just stick mine in the ground as they are lol! They have a short cycle, but I make mine last the whole summer by picking a few leaves as they grow so the plant does not get taller and go on to produce its flower as it is busy producing new leaves every time! Then when its autumn and I no longer will use it, I let it flower and grow and collect the seeds for either use in cooking or planting the next year! :)

Here are mine so far lol, still very small but were only planted about a week ago!

very nice zee...

the seedlings look great.... i guess if you soak them in water they germinate a day or two earlier than if you didnt :)

hehee ya rolling the pin over it takes the outer husk off it, so that helps in cutting down germination time too.. so its all good !!!

i am using these smallish pots, i filled them up with compost and then watered it, to settle the soil down a bit, I scattered the seeds on the surface and topped up with one inch of compost and sprinkled some water on top,, and that's it !!!!

left them in the garden and ill let ya know when there is some activity in the pot :)

Mashallah this is awsome. I sowed some seeds last week too. They have germinated and counting everyday but I seem to have a bit of a problem watering them. I am trying to keep the soil moist by spraying them with a sprayer. The bigger once bent and never recover :( Is there a special way to water them that I don't know? I will post some pictures when I get home.

are they in a pot ?

you can put the pot on a dish or plate and water the dish/plate, the soil will suck up the water :)

Yah, I have 'em in a trough. Not too deep though, may be like 4 inches of soil. It's the same trough I had my mangoes in. I will try to fill the tray with water and see how it goes. Thanks

Would like to know what I'm donig wrong. My seeds all germinate beautifully; I've also managed to plant them into larger pots without an issue. However, they then seem to get very leggy and run to seed before I get enough leaves to harvest. Twice I've tried now; and twice had the same experience. I love coriander but just cannot seem to grow the stuff to anything worth harvesting. Help!

Today I discovered huge paw prints in my vegetable patch and it looks like some giant creature jumped over my coriander. I had watered my veggie patch and soaked them in water so it was pretty damp and may be that's why the footprints were left.

You can also look at the tiny paw prints in the first picture but just wondering what the hell jumped and left such deep prints . wow. Is bagpuss back by any chance. lol.
