AsSalaamu Alaykum to all,
I know it's been a while but I've been quite tied up, and I miss growing things!!! Spring is coming, and I don't want to miss the growing season due to revision+coursework so I was wondering if you guys could help me tackle this.
I need to figure out a routine. Why can't I do this myself? Because I am the most disorganised person ever
Any tips?

im in a not too dissimilar a boat its quite easy just remember work>growing
do your revision/work first, and when it comes to your plants try and stick with the basics watering, pruning, feeding etc. if its a bigger gardening job(e.g preparing land for specific plants) make sure your revision/work takes priority even if it means postponing your gardening job and if you can get a friend or family member to help with gardening tasks, that can free up time.
also remember that plants don't need constant attention, give them a bit of water and the light they need and leave them be 9/10 times that's all it takes.
and as a final word if you got tests coming up forget about the plants the only thing you should do for them at that point is water, just think to yourself they'll be fine and of course they will inshallah
good luck

ARGH I wrote a big response and then accidentlaly hit back and lost it all :(
Anyway - the gist of what I was trying to say was that edibles is right - I think we all, as plant lovers, tend to spoil our plants a little. I have this very bad habit of liking to hold a potted plant in my hands and just.... stare at it. admire it. very bad time waster. But for the most part the growing is slow and just takes time, so beyond watering, fertilizing, moving to the sun, we can't do that much :)
Don't worry if you can't do as much as you did before school. Ultimately we're all gardening for fun, and once it stops being fun and turns into a chore it's no longer worth it. I know this is bad advice, but try to relax and don't get too stressed over not being able to take perfect care of so many plants. Enjoy the ones you have and try to keep your garden smaller (I know I fail at this - I had 30+ plants in our room last year and everyone called it the jungle. Also a bad idea.) I'm planning on starting tomato and eggplant transplants in my dorm room again and take it as it goes. For us students of course studies come first but it's certainly possible to balance in a little greenery.
But yay for another student gardener (you too edibles!)!! are you living in a dorm? we shall have to swap college gardening stories! and I'm so glad you're back!
P.S. Please help out this American - what is "revision"?

aww @ K :o
revision is when you have a exam or test coming up at university/college/school and you are swotting the night before, and learning and revising everything,
basically to study before an exam or similar :)

Thanks Kirsten, nah I'm not in a dorm (over here we call that living 'on-campus' ). When I first joined up I was a student gardener btw :p
Hmm ok, I've gotta try not to be ambitious...that's going to be hard!!! But I guess I'll have to be ruthless with my choices...

It's not always before an exam. There's a rare breed of student that is always prepared, and they revise all the way throughout the year
Kirsten revision is exactly that - revision!

I'm terrible with timetables, but :ty:
