Hello fellow growers! There is a plant in my school's library that is beautiful, but unfortunately I don't know what it is! Can anyone help me out?

In case it isn't clear from the photo, the foliage is a set of 3 triangular purple/magenta bracts (leaves that act like petals) on each stem.

hi ^

I believe it is a purple oxalis they have a wild native cousin called wood sorrel, aka 'sourleaf'

). its in the legume family of plants http://home.howstuffworks.com/false-shamrock.htm
