Here's some pics from my garden, it's a total mess still. I uncovered the water feature today though, it looks nice! At least it will, with a bit of TLC. You wouldn't believe how overgrown this was, you really couldn't see any of it because it was totally covered in ivy and bindweed. But of course I forgot to take "before" photos. Oh well!

This is another bit we've cleared up. Yummy herbs growing out of septic tubes! (unused of course)

and on the other side there's strawberries

This is were we're planning to put the greenhouse. I uncovered a bit of the stone wall so you know can see what's under there! The plan was to build a small greenhouse out of windows onto the existing wall of the flowerbed. There's some steps going up the side of the bed and at the top of the steps the door will be. That's the initial idea anyway!

Everything is pretty overgrown:

And there's also a lot of rubbish lying around. Definitely needs a serious clear up!

But there's still a couple of nice flowers :)

Looks like the garden from my old house before I did the makeover!
Lots of nice features you have in that garden and plenty of hard work ahead of you but as any gardener knows once its all done it'll be worth the effort!!
Great photos & Good luck!! :)

Thanks! It was a pretty awesome garden a couple of years ago, hopefully it'll get there again. The water feature is super cool. Septic tubes are kinda weird but at least it's original :P
He he, she wears a skirt because she's a girl, Charlie MAY ;)

Hello, sorry I haven't been on much lately my computer's in bits waiting to be rebuilt so it's hard to do photos and stuff... The garden is happening, slowly but surely, we've got some new interesting plants in it, including Sea-buckthorn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippophae_rhamnoides), nanking cherry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prunus_tomentosa) and stevia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevia_rebaudiana). photos to come!
I don't know if I would call it spick and span yet by any means but it is improving :)

As far as I know, the boat garden is still there. I had to move back to Norway though so I don't know what it looks like over there anymore. Going back in October though to have a look :)
Thanks, I think bits of it is beginning to look good. Still tons to do though!

Major project but luckily you have Charlie to help you out there! Judging by the picture of the messiest area after it's clean-up the garden must be looking marvellous after it's full face-lift. Thank you for the links on those three different plants, very varied uses for each one, did you begin the nankin cherry shrub from seedlings and have you ever tried one of the leaves of the Stevia?

Thanks farah :)
It looks a lot better, a lot of the plants have had a bit of a rough time and look a bit sad from being moved around and cleaned up. But it'll be brilliant next summer!
We actually got all of those plants from a lady locally who used to run a nursery with her husband, he passed away recently and there's just too many plants for her so she gave them away to anyone who wanted to come dig them up. It's pretty cool as they're all big bushes!
The stevia is amazing, intensly sweet and an almost liquorice or anis like flavour. My brother can't eat sugar at the moment so he actually uses a powder made from this plant instead, and it's 375 times sweeter than sugar! 0_0
It's very cool though as it doesn't affect your bloodsugar level at all and is actually healthy. Apparently it's illegal to sell this powder in Norway as a sweetener, because the sugar industry is so scared people will find out about it they do what they can to get it off the marked.
Everyone should have a Stevia in their garden :)
