I apologize for my poor photography skills as some pics are not over 800/600 resolution and are blurred because i could not adjust for moving images. I will post more pics with much better results insha-Allah soon as climate is getting better here in lahore - Pakistan.

What's with the Pakistani flags on your terrace, were you celebrating Pakistan Independance Day?

khabab bhai..
:ty: very much for the pics... i really love your garden and i love your container gardening i have been saying this for a while that you can grow most things in pots if you don't have the space, its nice to see someone doing it and achieving stunning results.. :GreenThumbs:
tell me in pic 10 the water lilly, how do you oxygenate the water ? by simply taking some out and replacing it with fresh water ? i always wanted to grow water lillies so thanks for the inspiration.
The Bombay creeper looks great just hanging there,
you know what would look stunning too, the "Virginia creeper" with its different colours through out the season..
please keep the pics coming :)
i am at work right now, but tonight i will take a closer look at all the pics
ps.. i love the street scenes aswell, rickshaws, street sellers :)

Thats very impressive khabbab and great photos btw!! Just goes to show you that you don't need a big garden or lots of land to grow things you like :)
I'm envious of your pakistan climate, in the UK all we get is :sky11: :sky11: and more :sky11: and thats just in the summer!

Masha'Allah Khabbab, absolutely stunning! Your garden is so beautiful and varied! I, like tahir am jealous of the clime you have there, here in the UK we don't get much sun (in my area anyway).
Can we get a shot of the overall effect/combination of plants? And hah, that rikshaw brings back memories, we used to call them 'puk-puk cars' :p

thanks everyone, here are some more pics.
@Riz - my water lilies are in clay pots so water is absorbed by pots almost daily and evaporated as well so every 2-3 days i refill the remaining pond. BUT i have seen waterliles in ceramics pots and nobody even looks at them, no oxygenation what so ever, they still thrive!!!!
i am also thinking of posting few pics of some donkeys which are used in a repair work in repairing a road near us. i m sure you guys will enjoy it as well

This pink rain lily - zephyranthes lily- i am growing in a 7 inches pot. 4 bulbs in one pot. And the mali calls them Nargis although nargis is something else. pink one has bigger flowers while yellow has smaller ones. white is something in between. i hope they will be perennials as these are very rarely available in lahore.

Remaining pics i will post tomorrow are buddleia(some unknown species), Gmelina philippensis(parrot's beak) , cassia fistula(amaltas), some fig tree and few others.
@Obsidian - climate of pakistan is very diverse. but lahore has more inclination towards sub-tropical nature. i mean how can you garden from april-september when temp is not below 35c. btw we also use Air conditioners a lot.
It is difficult for me to post an overall look of plants i have because they are so scattered at different corners of my terrace and my soil bed. but i will try when temp get down.

They are called "qingqi" pronounced as "Ching-Chi". And in old city a race is held of these "qingqi" rikshaws off and on. that is worth watching a scene.
These are being banned by Government with the passage of time except in few old areas.

The best thing i like about the park is that they have mentioned the names of trees planted in the park plus another thing which i really enjoy during my walk is that Alla swt's 99 attributes are displayed on trees and you keep on repeating them in ur heart as u walk =) isnt it Sadq-e-Jaariya =)

Thank u Riz. I am glad you liked these.
Here is another beautiful tree i want to share with the members. Its called Bauhinia purpurea , commonly known as "Katchnaar" in urdu ; which is used in several traditional medicine systems to cure various diseases. It has been known to possess antibacterial, antidiabetic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-diarrheal, anticancerous, nephroprotective and thyroid hormone regulating activity .. (info courtesy Wikipedia)
Its flowers somehow reminds me of Cherry Tree when fully bloomed. We have the same tree in our neighborhood and i often see this Aunty picking up "katchnaar". Qeema Katchnaar is a very popular dish and fondly eaten by the masses. First picture is taken in the Park and last three are of my negihbour's tree.
