those are hairy little things aren't they. do you remove the hair before germinating them or do you plant them as they are?

salaam sakeena..

i trust you had a nice new year...

yeah they are hairy, yep you just sow them with the hair intact..
ill pot them tomorrow.. they look intresting though.....

ps.. i dont even know which side up the seed is,, ill just lay it on its side, it should correct itself :)

wasalam, i did. you? (sorry if my previous post came of as rude.)

lol, funny problem but it shouldn't matter should it? even if you planted it upside down it'll still grow upwards.

those seeds remind me of little cartoon cave men...:o

lol yes very true, even if they are planted upside down, they do a U bend under the soil and correct themselves so you are right :)

i use to watch "captain caveman" when i was younger :)

these seeds are hard to germinate, no activity till i sowed them, so i dug the seeds out and dropped them in a glass of water for 24 hours and now i have re potted them, lets see if i get better results this time. I should really get a heated propagator for exotic seeds,

ok well

no seeds germinated. i need a heated propagator to do it right.. :)

the proteas seeds are hard to germinate without a heated propagtor..

i may try again inshallah next season or maybe through the winter months indoors , when i will probably get bored with not growing anything.

were they just in a normal propagator before? or in a pot on the radiator?
