Brussels sprout grow

My first time growing brussel sprouts, i will be growing some in containers and some in the ground at the back of the garden,, i should really plant them in the ground now as they are getting huge and really healthy....

Good luck, I thought they grew like cabbages, but it turns out they grow on stalks....weird

i planted the brussel sprouts in a trench i dug in the back of the garden..

the sprouts that are growing in containers are doing really well with zero insect damage, However the ones in the trench are not looking too good, the leaves have been eaten severely,

the caterpillars are really having a feast on the sprouts man !! lol i saw dozens on one plant,, i need to get some Derris powder from the seed store,, i hope it wont be too late by then :fighting0010:

the ones in the ground are recovering from the caterpillar attack, and i can see tiny sprouts emerging from the stalk of the plant, the ones in container are doing well too, but i have noticed that the roots spread real quickly and they are coming out of the base of the pots :)

I bought some brussel sprouts on the stalk the other day and my lil brother in all his wisdom has decided to put the stalk into soil and see if sprouts grow...Is that do-able? Apparently its rooting in the soil...

you suppose to sow the seeds in late march or mid april though.... so not sure if the stalk will root and grow on, will be interesting to find out.. keep us informed sarah :)
