As-salaum alaikum and good afternoon,

I need a new lawnmower, never bought one before so does anyone have any tips as to what to watch out for or any recommendations?? I have a budget of £70-80 to spend so it needs to be one that will last without breaking the bank.

I have a medium/large size garden, any advice would be great!

I'm glad someone has finally asked about garden equipment - this is my area of expertise :p I've been working as a volunteer gardener for a charity on the weekends for the last 3 years whereby we cut hedges, grass and shrubs for elderly people to help them maintain their gardens and I have had a lot of experience using different mowers and hedgecutters.

Firstly if you have a medium/large garden you would be better off with a rotary mower (one which has wheels and a steel blade). From what I've seen the Flymo 330 (not sure which model u have seen) is a hover mower which is better for small gardens.

Without going into masses of detail (which I can but will bore u to death with :p) the best electric mower I have used is the Bosch Rotak, becoz it is not too heavy, gives a great cut and collects the grass better than any others I have used! However the cheapest in the range is just under £90.00 at argos which is a bit more than u wanted to pay but believe me it is worth it:

yes the flymo is a hover mower - i think from memory

i'm gonna try and shop around to see if i can get it cheaper else where.
