Cool! I ended up planting mine straight into the ground though, the ones I had in a bucket went missing (the seedlings were disappearing) can't wait for the pic

germinated some carrot seeds in a container and then thinned them out.. they have grown rapidly since the hot spell we had last week.. the leaves reminds me of coriander only a lot bigger....

very nice, is that the mini greenhouse you bought real cheap !!? what have you tied to the brick !?

Those carrot plants look wonderful! I think the ground might be too hard for mine, they grow a bit and then they just sorta pop out of the ground and disappear :confused: I did dig the ground up thoroughly before hand but still might be too hard.

thats a shame, i inspected mine yesterday and i can see the carrot developing. Inshallah next season you can have a good go at growing them maybe in containers around the garden, i let you know how i get on and ill give you the name of the carrot strain aswell.

not sure too be honest with you.. ill just take a look now and again and figure it out, it was a late grow aswell..

i inspected a few and they are doing great, the leaves are drying up which is a sign of maturity so maybe another 2 weeks

still have some time for the carrots to mature, but couldnt help myself i just had to see..

I harvested the carrots today. I could have left them longer untill mid october but i didnt want the hard tough carrots, i prefer the baby carrots.. so here is my harvest :)

they are called " early nantes 5 " you can sow them in feb-july and harvest may - oct

i tasted them and i can honestly say the carrots tasted delicious crunchy, juicy and with flavour i will be growing these again definitely. They are the perfect size as well for boiling them with other vegetables, I may even pickle them maybe cut them in strips and pickle them.... yummy !!

well i got some carrot seeds

stopped by the seeds and the carrots were at my daughters level so she picked up the packet saying they are for the rabbit lol

so will have a go at growing them!
