I had heard of both Ramadan and the phrase "Eid mubarak" before but didn't know they were connected. Thanks to wikipedia and muslimgrower I'm learning lots about Islamic culture :) Eid mubarak everyone (is it ok for me to say that if I'm not a muslim?)

Muslims have two EID celebrations per year kirsten, the first one is after ramadhan which is called " eid-iL- fitr" see other EID thread, and the second one is after "the hajj" ( the annual pilgrimage to mecca ) "Eid al-Adha" (Festival of Sacrifice)
which was on Monday

Of course its OK for you to say it... :) and thank you..
WE Muslims believe that all "humans" are born Muslims in the first place.

i stayed at home, could have gone to London in the evening for a chill but i couldn't be bothered it was really cold and it rained last night, so i stayed warm indoors, but in the afternoon went to see my family, nephew and nieces and in the early evening i was back, i am glad its all over though, not really into joyful occasions, I am not the kind of person who has to wear everything NEW and go shopping for eid clothes i am way too old for that :)

I didnt do much...usual get together at my mums (which we do regularly anyway) and ate loads lol

You're starting to sound like Victor Meldrew :p you aren't old enough to be an old fart yet! Khair, Eid is for enjoying, however you wish to!
