planted karela in the greenhouse and they are also overtaking the greenhouse though i planted too late so they may not survive once the frost comes - will plant earlier next year and see if i get any karela - planted both the indian one and also the smooth one

Naaah bruv I know what karela are and they most certainly aren't gherkins :)

Also known as bitter melon or bitter gourd. They look like this http://www.healthandayurveda.com/images/herbs/karela.jpg. I don't like them much :o but they're supposed to be good for diabetics somehow :confused:.

there is also a smooth version which is grown in thailand and places like that. they clean the blood and is used in diabetic medicine - they are climbers - when i get my camera back will take a picture of the plants
