I have yet to plant our vegetable garden. Still trying to pick the right location. The location that we picked is right next to the EASTERN wall of the house, so for a few hours of the day it gets good sunlight -- the other part of the day its shaded.

the other spot which is a possibility is against the southern wall of the house, so naturally, this spot gets sunlight the whole day with no shade.

Which is better. you guys may say the 2nd one is better, but is the 1st spot really that bad? I mean, a half a day of sun, isn't that enough?

Thanks.

Light is one of the most important elements in growing vegetables and is probably the one that we have least control over. When growing vegetables consider the amount of light your area will be getting. Most vegetables need an average of 6 hours of sunlight. Do not be too concerned if your garden plot is in a shady area as leaf and root vegetables ( lettuce, peas, carrots, swisschard ) will tolerate some shade.

Oh same problem.... I was wondering how much sunlight should my plants get....All of them are not even a month old... some of them are still in the process of germination....but we have more then 6 hours of sun light....will that be too much? Specially on the roof top...where I shifted all my pots to save them from snails! but in just one day I'm looking for some sort of shed...as my most green Courgette slightly went yellow from the corner....too much sunlight? *sigh* I'm watering them well!
